WebOct 6, 2024 · I have MSI Geforce GTX 970 Gaming 4G OC and usually when no 3D application is running my card automatically goes back to lower core/mem speed like it supposed to (higher Pstates) but sometimes it gets stuck in max core/mem speeds and then temperature rises, fan turns, and noise level rises and case temperature rises. P-States range from P0 to P15, with P0 being the highest performance/power state, and P15 being the lowest performance/power state.

WebJun 19, 2024 · For GTX 970 I can use the -ac key, but the only thing it does, is put the card in P0 state. It does not really set clock values. I can specify any clocks from the supported table (albeit very low values), but the videocard always goes into P0 state and works to its full potential. I can get it back to P2 state using the -rac key. WebI can confirm this hotfix has fixed the GPU stuck in P0 state issue that was introduced in 526.47 and was happening right after login in my case. GPU was stuck at 40W idle power draw at 0% GPU usage. With the hotfix it's just using 12-15W. RTX2080 Super Max-Q, Razer Blade 2024. Thanks.
