Pingel electric shifter problems
WebJan 11, 2014 · So I had a perfectly working pingel electric shifter and then I installed an HID headlight. Then the shifter quit working. When the headlight is disconnected the shifter works. It apparently has something to do with the accessory wire that shifter is tied into. For whatever reason I can't pull 12v switched power from the accessory wrote anymore. WebDec 22, 2005 · I did have it all hooked up correctly the first time, just did not know that after you start the bike you have to hold one of the shift buttons down for 5 to 8 seconds to activate the shift unit, DUH! Works like a champ now, have the engine kill set on the second setting .74 milliseconds and it works well.

If shifting up or down is not achieved, you can loosen the Pingel clamp on the shift cylinder and adjust up or down 1/16” to 1/8” at one time making sure not to bottom out the electric shift cylinder. Retighten Pingel clamp and retest ride motorcycle. This adjustment is fastidious and patience is required. WebJul 14, 2005 · Pengel Shifter No blown fuses, no shorts, tried different kill times and no luck yet. My V-Rod is a modified 1430cc beast now so I'd really like to get the Pingel working right. The Instructions said to interupt the yellow/green +12v lead from the system relay for the kill function. This also "drops" the fuel pump,etc. How is everone elses setup?
